Work Passport Program
Objectives
The work passport program’s main objective is increase the participation of the UAE national human resources in the private sector labor market.
This national strategic program has been designed to train and qualify nationals searching for job opportunities and in response to the requirements of the privet sector. The program helps improving job prospects in association with a number of government department and privet organizations

Brief history
- In the first phase from 1998 - 1999, the Program encompassed 5 curricula, with and average of 230 hours.
- Then the Program was developed in 2000 to incorporate 12 curricula with an average of 280 hours.
- The Program, being subject to continual improvement, is now being recognized equivalent to the BTEC Advance Diploma in Business Skills.
- The fact that graduates of the Work Passport Program get a Diploma in Secretariat is an evidence for program’s commitment to international quality and excellence criteria. In 2001, the WPP was developed further to incorporate 10 curricula with an average of 310 hours to be completed within 11 weeks.

Landmarks of success
Over the past 8 years some 43 batches graduated from the Work Passport program, including men and women, all in totaled 816 students. The Programs were conducted at the Emirates of Abu Dhabi & Al Ain City.
- A special program has been designed and implemented for the retired.
- Strategic alliances and partnerships have been established with key players in the workforce market.
- The Program now is equivalent to a BTEC Advanced Diploma in Business Skills offered by Edexcel in UK
- Employment rate among graduates of Work Passport Program has reached 85%
- In April 2001 the work passport Fund was established to support funding of the work passport program.

Admission Requirements
Requirements for Admission in the Work Passport Program vary from one session to another, based on many factors and depending upon the number of applicants and seats available. However, entry into the Program is open for applicants provided that they have
- UAE citizenship.
- Completed Secondary-School certificate or its equivalent as a minimum requirement.
- Filled the application form for entry in the Program and any other forms kept at the Work Passport Management at the Training Center of the Chamber. Supporting documents should essentially be attached thereto.
- Passed the admission test, written or oral, as so decided, including interviews.
- Paid specified registration fees.
- Accepted all rules and regulations adopted at the Work Passport Management in terms of admission and selection, prior to commencement as well as those regulations implemented in the course of and after completion of the Program.
